V M Pandhari Pande, obtained his B.E. degree from Nagpur University in 1970, M.Tech & PhD in Electronics & Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1972 and 1979 respectively. During 1972-1974 worked as Scientific Officer at TIFR Mumbai. Joined as faculty member in Radar & Comm. Centre, IIT Kharagpur in 1974 and served there till 1983 as Asst. Professor. During his stay IIT, worked on Sponsored research projects funded by DRDO, Dept of Electronics, Space Application Centre in the field of Phased Array Radar, Slotted waveguide couplers, Slotted Array antennas, Strip Micro strip antennas and feed systems. He joined Electronics & Communication Engineering Dept of Osmania University in 1983 and was responsible for establishment of research and training facilities in Microwave Engineering. He organized several Short term courses for Scientists and Engineers working in Industries, R & D institution in the field of Microwave Circuits, Antennas and Radar Systems. He was Head of the Department during 1985-1987 and 1989-1990, Chairman Board of Studies during 1987- 1990 and 1996-1999, Director Curriculum Development & Accreditation Audit Cell during 1996-1999 and Dean Faculty of Engineering 1999-2001. He was Director VNIT Nagpur for 2003-04. He is Management Representative for ISO 9001 certification of the College of Engineering, OU. He was coordinator of prestigious Project IMPACT funded by World Bank & Swiss Development Cooperation during 1990-1996, coordinator of Technical Education Quality Improvement Project from World Bank, and Resource person for preparation of project document for NETWORK project funded by Swiss Development Cooperation.  He has served as member  of National Radar council working Group on Radar & Navigational Aids, Advisor UPSC, Expert member of National Board of Accreditation AICTE, recruitment and assessment Board of DRDO, project Review Committee of DLRL & DRDL Min of Defense. He has successfully completed sponsored research projects funded by AICTE, CSIR, LRDE, DST, Dept of Electronics & Min of HRD and published more than 120 research papers in National and International Journals. He has authored 14 books in Marathi Literature. He was recipient of best Teacher Award from Govt. of A.P. in 2001, Sir Visweswaraya Award from Institute of Engineers in 2002 and IETE Award in 2002, Best Teacher Award from Faculty of Engineering Osmania University in 2002. Dr.Pandharipande is Fellow of IETE, Fellow of AP Academic of Sciences and Member of ISTE, IE. He is on Editorial Board of IETE and Journal of AP Academic of Sciences. At present he is the Director of Centre for Excellence in Microwave Engineering established by Astra Microwave Products Limited at Osmania University, Hyderabad.
