Prof. (Dr.) Manju Chhugani

Prof. (Dr.) Manju Chhugani is a prodigious leader, trainer, researcher and an influential academician with more than 30 years of extensive hands-on experience in area of maternal and child health and university teaching, administration, projects management and research. Prof. (Dr.) Manju Chhugani is a certified assessor of National assessment and accreditation council (NAAC), Nodal head of National Skills Training Centre “Daksh” member of Central Review Mission (CRM) GoI, Steering group member at State of world’s midwifery (SOWMY) 2021, country contact of Midwifery Today, executive member of White Ribbon Alliance of India (WRAI), serves as the board member of Midwives Alliance of Asia (MAA) for advocacy of midwifery in India. She member of national task force of nurse practitioner in midwifery, member of technical resource group in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of India and contributed to the development of various guidelines and handbooks to reduce maternal mortality ratio and neonatal mortality rate. She is notable member of University Grant Commission (UGC) expert committee for comprehensive and holistic review of functioning of universities and review more than 21 Universities.

She is external assessor at NHSRC and dynamic member of more than 25 national and international organizations and has completed various projects with UNICEF, UNFPA, ICHA, centre for development of population activities (CEDPA) and IDF- Ipas. She has been expert, resource person, chairperson, organiser and participated in more than 390 workshops/seminar and conferences. 

She is editor in chief of International journal of nursing midwifery research, the member of editorial board of journal of Asian midwives, journal of community and public health nursing.

She has a total of 71 publications, 7 book chapters, 5 books, 17 guidelines under her umbrella. She has received 21 awards and appreciation in her field. She is the first Indian to receive the prestigious Marie Goubran Agent of Change Award by ICM for the year 2020.
