Dr. V. Balachandran, Ph.D. from Alagappa University, a State University in Tamil Nadu has worked as Dean and Sr. Professor, Faculty of Management, Alagappa University. After his retirement in May 2019, he served as Dean, School of Business Studies and Professor and Head of Department of Management Studies, Central University of Kerala. 

He has 38 years of PG teaching experience, four years of Industrial experience and 30 years of research experience in the field of Commerce, Corporate Secretaryship and Management.

His Current areas of specialization are Capital market and Security laws, GST, Financial Management, Corporate Governance, Ethics, CSR & Corporate Management.

Earlier, he served as Sr. Professor and Dean of Faculty of Management, Registrar, Special Officer (Planning and Development), Finance Officer, RUSA Co-ordinator, Director of Distance Education, and Dean Students Welfare, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu.  He has guided successfully 30 scholars for the award of Doctoral Degree and 55 M..Phil scholars.  He has published over 365 articles/research papers in Professional Journals and reputed National and International journals and UGC Care Listed journals He has Authored and Co-authored 15 books on titles such as GST and Customs Law, Indirect Taxation [19th Edition], Office Management, Legal Aspects of Business, Corporate and Business Law, Securities Market and Regulations, Corporate Governance, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Company Law and Practice, Economic Legislations, Company Secretarial Practice [14th Edition] and Secretarial, Securities and Management Audit by reputed Publishers such as Thomson Reuters, Sultan Chand and Sons, Bharat Law Book House, Tata Mc-Graw Hill, Prentice Hall &Vijay Nicole Imprints P Ltd.
