Dr. Ravindrasinh G. Pardeshi

Principal, Fergusson College, Pune.

Dr. Pardeshi holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Pune, with research focusing on Petrography and Geochemistry of granitic and basaltic rocks in the Drass-Kargil regions of Ladakh, Himalayas. His passion for Earth Sciences led him to pursue professional training in Structural Geology at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun. With an illustrious teaching career at Fergusson College, he has played a pivotal role in designing and developing curricula for Geology, Environmental Management, and Gemology, inspiring countless students through fieldwork and research opportunities.

As Principal since 2009, Dr. Pardeshi has been instrumental in elevating Fergusson College’s academic and research standards. Under his leadership, the college earned an "A" grade from NAAC and was recognized as a "College with Potential for Excellence" by the UGC. He has championed initiatives like career counseling, equal opportunity programs, and international collaborations, including a diploma program in Food Sciences with Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. A firm believer in teamwork and innovation, Dr. Pardeshi continues to motivate both faculty and students to strive for excellence, blending traditional values with modern educational practices.
