Dr. R. Latha

Dr. R. Latha, M.Sc., Ph.D., is a distinguished Professor and IQAC Coordinator at SVMCH&RC, Pondicherry, with nearly three decades of teaching experience in Physiology. She completed her UG at MCC (Madras University, 1992), PG in Medical Physiology from Dr. ALM PG IBMS (University of Madras, 1995), and Ph.D. from CMC Vellore (The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, 2008).

She has served in reputed institutions including 13 years at PSGIMSR, and held key leadership roles such as Vice Principal (Admin) and IQAC Coordinator, contributing significantly to NAAC accreditation. Recognized by NAAC, Bengaluru, she has been appointed as a NAAC assessor and has served as an External Auditor for AAA audits across prominent institutions.

Dr. Latha has rich research expertise in Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Yoga, and Evoked Potentials, with 59 publications in national and international journals, 3 copyrights, and multiple best paper awards. She is a resource person for AYUSH-sponsored programs, a Ph.D. supervisor under Pondicherry University, and has successfully guided several ICMR-STS projects, many of which earned student awards and international recognitions.

She is also currently working on research related to millet-based diets for diabetes and has been honored with accolades including the Best Student Advisor Award and Outstanding Scientist in Research and Higher Education Award – 2024.
