as over 35 years of professional experience in the fields of Academics, Clinical Practice, Research and Administration. He is a prominent figure in the field of Anesthesia, the First Indian Anaesthesiologist to be elected as the member of the Executive Committee of World Federation of Society of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA). He was the President of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists and also was the Editor of the National Journal- Indian Journal of Anesthesia (IJA). He was Senior Professor of Anesthesiology, at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & Medical Research Centre for almost 20 years. He was the First Registrar of the prestigious KLE University, Belgaum for two terms (6years) and was instrumental in getting the NAAC A grade for the university Presently, he is the Editor of ‘SAARC Journal of Anesthesia’. 

His areas of interest are Cardiac Anaesthesia, Paediatric Anaesthesia, Pain Management and Anaesthesia Education. He is instrumental in the establishment of Cardiac Anaesthesia unit at KLE Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC Belgaum. He is the active member of the Smile Train Unit of USA, He is actively involved in Medical Education in the past almost 3 decades and he has undergone specialized training in Medical Education at University of Illinois Chicago USA. He has established the University Department of Education for Health Professionals which imparts Post Graduate Diploma program at KLE, in Health Professions Education. His areas of interest, in which he has done qualitative research is Evidence Based Medicine and he holds the PhD degree in Medical Education. He has been the Post Graduate Teacher, Examiner for various Universities in India and abroad and also the National Board   

He has delivered more than 13 various State/National Orations/Keynote addresses. He was felicitated by British Association Indian Anesthetists at UK (2010), Dubai Health Authority at Dubai (2009), and Chinese Society of Anesthesiologists at Wuhan China (2007), for his outstanding contributions in the field of Anaesthesia.

 He has the unique distinction of participating as a faculty in Five consecutive World Congresses of Anaesthesia held at Sydney, Australia (1996), Montreal, Canada (2000), Paris, France (2004), Cape Town, South Africa (2008) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (2012). He has more than 100 National and International Publications and has authored chapters in International books.
