Dr. Arshad Noor Siddiquee

Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

Arshad Noor Siddiquee engages with the research in materials and processing of materials, especially friction-based processing including friction stir welding, friction welding and friction stir processing. He has a meritorious career of more than two decades in Jamia Millia Islamia (a centrally funded public university), India, and has completed about a decade as Processor of Mechanical Engineering. Besides, he has also contributed to innovation and entrepreneurship in his role as Director in-charge of "Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE)" and "Faculty Coordinator for the University‚Äôs Start-up Policy (Oct 2021 to Nov 2022)". He has earned his Bachelors from Govt Engineering College Jabalpur, India, completed his masters and PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. He has a distinguished record of publication with more than 175 publications in SCI/Scopus journals, 8 books and more than 5700 citations, h-index-44 and i10 index 120.

He has significantly contributed to the outcome-based education, teaching-learning philosophy and pedagogy and has delivered a number of invited talks, conducted several workshops on these topics. He is a recipient of several national and international awards including Innovation and Entrepreneurship award by IOEM society, USA. He is also associated with various international committees including panel of evaluation for Docent applications and member of evaluation and assessment committee of research grants from RDIA, Saudi Arabia. He has also received sanctions for funded research grants and has successfully completed research projects worth more than 13 million USD, from India and abroad. He has active research collaborative engagements with researchers from Toronto Metropolitan University Canada, Wenzhou University China, King Saud University Saudi Arabia, and Serbian State Industrial University. He also has special interest in product development and has developed several prototypes including micro-electro-discharge vertical milling machine, linear friction welding system, and numerous toolings, instruments for customized measurements.
